Session Title – SQL and PLSQL – The Fast Lane to Database Success
Session AbstractNo-one becomes an app developer to spend their days doing data processing. We do it to explore complex algorithms, build beautiful applications, and deliver fantastic solutions for our customers. But so often we don’t ever get to realize that dream. We’re too busy dealing with ORMs and hand-coding all the nuts and bolts of data processing so we’re left with precious little time for anything else. There is a better way. By expanding our knowledge of SQL facilities, we can write a lot less middle-tier code, and get performance benefits as an added bonus. This session highlights some SQL techniques to solve problems that would otherwise require a lot of complex coding, freeing up your time to focus on the delivery of great applications.

Session Title – Partitioning 101

Session Title – 50 Shades of Data – how, when and why Big,Relational,NoSQL,Elastic,Graph,Event
Session Abstract – Data has been and will be the key ingredient to enterprise IT. What is changing is the nature, scope and volume of data and the place of data in the IT architecture. BigData, unstructured data and non-relational data stored on Hadoop, in NoSQL databases and held in Elastic Search, Caches and Message Queues complements data in the enterprise RDBMS. Trends such as microservices that contain their own data, BASE, CQRS and Event Sourcing have changed the way we store, share and govern data. This session introduces patterns, technologies and hypes around storing, processing and retrieving data using products such as Oracle Database, Cassandra, MySQL, Neo4J, Kafka, Redis, Elastic Search and Hadoop/Spark -locally,in containers and on the cloud. Key take away: what an application architect and a developer should know about the various types of data in enterprise IT and how to store/manage/query/manipulate them. What products and technologies are at your disposal. How can you make these work together – for a consistent (enough) overall data presentation.

Session Title – The Art of Intelligence – Introduction Machine Learning for Oracle professionals
Session Abstract – Our technology has gotten smart and fast enough to make predictions and come up with recommendations in near real time. Machine Learning is the art of deriving models from our Big Data collections – harvesting historic patterns and trends – and applying those models to new data in order to rapidly and adequately respond to that data. This presentation will explain and demonstrate in simple, straightforward terms and using easy to understand practical examples what Machine Learning really is and how it can be useful in our world of applications, integrations and databases. Hadoop and Spark, real time and streaming analytics, Watson and Cloud Datalab, Jupyter Notebooks and Citizen Data Scientists will all make their appearance, as will SQL.

Session Title – All about Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS)
Session Abstract –
The trend in Modern application design focuses not only on a Rich Graphical user interface, but also the API (REST-API). This API serves as the data source for the application, and also a means for integrating different applications within an enterprise. We are currently moving towards an agile and flexible architecture, where the use of JDBC/ODBC connections is not the standard way of connecting to the database anymore. Then how do we do it? the answer is REST APIs.

Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) offers more easy way to connect to the database without using JDBC/ODBC connections, but by using REST API. This allows the application server to connect to the data source only via REST calls and then respond back to the users. It is very easy to implement the OAuth 2.0 security standard to these REST apis as well.

Few of many advantages offered by ORDS are,
– Rapid application development
– Agile and Flexible application design
– Suitable for Composite applications and Micro-Services
– Available in both Oracle Database Cloud Service, and on premise
– Offers complete control and security in exposing the data as REST APIs
– Open Source and completely free

Session Title – All about Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS)
Session Abstract – The trend in Modern application design focuses not only on a Rich Graphical user interface, but also the API (REST-API).

Few of many advantages offered by ORDS are,
– Rapid application development – Agile and Flexible application design
– Suitable for Composite applications and Micro-Services
– Available in both Oracle Database Cloud Service, and on premise
– Offers complete control and security in exposing the data as REST APIs
– Open Source and completely free
